Lorenzo Serra Ferrer was a transformative manager for Real Betis during his fours years in charge in the mid1990s. He earned a promotion back to La Liga in his debut campaign, then went better still in 1994/95 as he inspired his side to a 3rd placed La Liga finish to earn European qualification.
it was a fitting end to the long and succesful time of club legend Rafael Gordillo who, after two spellsand over a decade at the club, would move on after playing his part in a great campeign alongside other notables like Alexis Trujillo, Risto Vidakovic and Angel Cuéllar. The star turn was undoubtedly newly-signed keeper Pedro Jaro who won the Ricardo Zamora Trophy by conceding just 25 goals in 38 league games.
