Real Betis 1993-94 Retro Football Shirt

The early 1990s was a turbulent era for Real Betis with the club beset by financial issues and stuck playing in the Spanish second tier. Things started to improve with the 1993-94 season when, under Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, Betis finished as runners-up a point behind Espanol to earn promotion back to La Liga after a three-year absence.

This was a team which featured a returning hero in the veteran Rafael Gordillo playing in midfield alongside the talented Juan José Canas. The team also had illustrious homegrown players such as Merino, Urena Cuéllar and Marquez. To round off a succesful season, Betis also reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after eliminating Barcelona during their run.
