The early 1980's was a difficult era for Stoke City, but it did see some entertaining football that was combined with an attacking style of play. The wing wizardry of Mark Chamberlain, the striking prowess of Lee Chapman, the creativity of Mickey Thomas and the quality and experience of players such as Sammy McIIroy and Dave Watson, all combined to provide some incredible matches which were witnessed by the Potters faithful.
A 4-0 thrashing of Watford, 4-1 wins against Birmingham and Swansea, a 5-2 victory over West Ham were special but werr nothing compared to the amizing 4-4 draw against Luton at the Victoria Ground - incredible scenes!
