Champions in both 1950 and 1952, Juventus narrowly failed to add a third Serie A title in four years in the 1952-53 season and had to be content with finishing two points adrift of Inter in second place. This was a hugely entertaining and free-scoring team, however one powered by Danish stars and capably coached by the Hungarian Gyorgy Sarosi.
John Hansen was the teams 19-goal top scorer in attack, where he played with distinction alongside16-goal Italien international Pasquale Vivolo, club legend Giampiero Boniperti, and compatriot Karl Aage 5-0 home victories over Fiorentina and Lazio, respectively, and a 6-0 away win at Novara.
