USA 1976 Retro Football Shirt

American soccer was enjoying a very high profile in 1976 thanks to the success of the North American Soccer League, but that succes had not extended as far as the US national team.

From 1960's international Walt CHyzowych had the role of Director of Coaching at the U.S. Soccer Federation and he also took on the role of coach this year, but the qualification tournament with Canada and Mexico for the 1978 World Cup did not work out succesfully. The highlight if the year was a 2-0 home win over Canada thanks to goals by Miro Ryes and Juli Veee.
