FC ST. Gallen 1978-80 Retro Football Shirt

FC ST. Gallen spent most of the early 1970s battling relegation from the Nationalliga A, but as the decade progressed the country's oldest club still in existence started to show signs of imrovement. The 1979-80 campaign was typical of this upturn.

St. Gallen finished a respectable 7th in the table and just outside of qualification for the championshipplay-off round. Home league form was especially good and brought a 6-0 wins against Lugano, Sion and FC Zürich.. Goals were spread evenly through the team over the campaign with only Italian-born forward Luigi Stomeo hitting double figures.
