Club Nacional de Football 1972 Retro Football Shirt

The year 1971 represents an iconic time in the history of Club Nacional de Football. Washington Etchamendi's brilliant team achieved victory in all the competitions in which it participated. The first victory in the Copa Libertadores over the three-time champion Estudiantes de la Plata, the concuest of the Uruguayan Chapionship and a victory in the Intercontinental Cup over Panathinaikos.

In 1972, Nacional completed ther cycle after winning the Inter-American Cup against Cruz Azul of Mexico and winning the Uruguayan Championship for the fourth consecutive year (1969,1970, 1971, 1972). The team was made up of extremely talented players and such legendary names as Luis Ubina, Manga, Luis Cubilla, Victor Escarrago, Julio CesarMorales, Julio Montero and the prolific Aregentine forward Luis Artime.
